Jesmond Dene House

Jesmond Dene House

Jesmond Dene House is a beautiful, historic building only a few minutes from the city centre yet located on the edge of the most beautiful dene giving lots of wonderful opportunities for couples portraits.

Whether you choose the Secret Garden or the Great Hall for your ceremony, Jesmond Dee House offers luxury surroundings and also a fantastic level of service.

Have a look at my styling suggestions.

The Ceremony

If you have your ceremony outside in the Secret Garden or on the terrace overlooking the lawn, a statement archway really frames you as a couple and gives a focal point backdrop.

If you’re inside the Great Hall, an arch is still a great option but the picture windows create a natural backdrop so I suggest putting the focus on the aisle instead.

The Great Hall

The Great Hall is such a versatile space you can have so many different layouts.
In this space the sky’s the limit. You can go to town with tall, grand arrangements, you can centre the top table in the windows or in front of the fireplace, you can have long tables or round, one big banquet table and you can even screen off the dark walls with draping to lighten the space.

This is a real opportunity to add your own personality to the space.

The Bar

The entrance into the Great Hall and the bar area are amazing spaces to really welcome your guests and show them you have considered every area.

An amazing welcome sign set up and some small but beautiful bud vases of flowers go a long way in these spaces.

Finally, don’t forget to go to the Dene to take the most beautiful golden hour portraits.
