About the Florist - Karen Alexander
Hi, I'm Karen
I’m an experienced wedding florist based in the North East and have been helping couples create beautiful, memorable weddings since 2011.
Flowers and plants are certainly my biggest passion. I’m obsessed flowers and I love combining beautiful blooms with thoughtful styling to create weddings that feel personal, elegant, unique. For me, it’s the small details that specifically make the biggest impact. Telling your story and creating an atmosphere that feels authentically you.
My background in weddings and events
Before launching my wedding floristry business, I spent almost 20 years in event management. During that time, I specialised in luxury weddings and events. I worked with prestigious venues, five-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. Working for celebrity chefs and with high profile clients taught me the importance of meticulous planning, exceptional organisation and flawless execution. These are skills that I bring to every wedding I design today. When designing your wedding flowers and styling, I put the guest experience at the heart of everything. Each detail is carefully thought out not just because it will look pretty, but because it will truly enhance your wedding day.

Working with me
My clients often tell me that I make the planning process feel calm and enjoyable. (You can read some kind words and testimonials here.) I believe that comes from combining creativity with careful attention to detail, helping you feel confident that every floral arrangement has been carefully considered and expertly delivered.
Inspired by the north east
I love living in Newcastle and spending my free time exploring Northumberland with my family. The landscapes, coastline and changing seasons of the North East are a constant source of inspiration. They have influenced my love of natural, garden-inspired floral design.
Homegrown
When I’m not designing weddings, you’ll often find me in the garden or greenhouse. Growing flowers has become both a hobby and an important part of my business. I love nurturing flowers and plants from seed and I’m continually developing my own cutting patch. I carefully select varieties that can be incorporated into my wedding work.
I love seeing flowers I’ve grown from seed become part of a couple’s wedding day. It’s incredibly rewarding! Throughout the growing season, I enjoy incorporating locally grown flowers and foliage into my designs wherever possible. Creating beautiful seasonal arrangements while supporting a more sustainable approach to floristry.
Family Life
As a family, we’ve recently discovered a shared love of skiing. Our children have started learning to ski, and it’s quickly become one of our favourite ways to spend time together. Family ski holidays give us the opportunity to slow down, enjoy the outdoors and create special memories away from the busy wedding season.
Whether I’m designing an intimate bridal bouquet or transforming an entire venue with flowers, my goal is always the same: to create beautiful, meaningful designs that reflect your personality and help make your wedding day unforgettable.
