How Much Do Wedding Flowers Cost in Newcastle, Northumberland & the North East?

One of the first questions couples ask when they start planning their wedding is:
“How much do wedding flowers actually cost?”

If you’re getting married in Newcastle, Northumberland or the wider North East, the honest answer is — it depends. Wedding flower costs can vary hugely based on style, scale and season, but having realistic starting figures makes planning far less overwhelming.

As a North East wedding florist, I’ve put together this guide to explain what wedding flowers typically cost when working with me, what affects the price, and how to decide what’s right for your day.

Average Cost of Wedding Flowers in the North East

In the Newcastle and Northumberland area, most of my couples typically spend between £1,500 and £2500+ on wedding flowers and styling. For larger weddings, or couples that want a lot of flowers, the average amount will rise.

At Karen Alexander Weddings, my couples usually fall into one of these ranges:

  • Bridal party flowers only – from £600+
  • Classic floral styling – from £1,450+
  • Luxury floral & styling packages – from £4,000+

These are guide prices, but they reflect real weddings across the North East — from relaxed countryside venues to grand stately homes and city weddings in Newcastle. Take a look at my pricing guides for more specific pricing.

Wedding Flower Packages Explained

Bridal Party Flowers – from £600+

This is a great option if you want beautiful, professionally designed flowers but are keeping venue décor simple.

This typically includes:

  • A bridal bouquet
  • 3 bridesmaids’ posies
  • 3 men’s buttonholes

All flowers are made using fresh, seasonal blooms, designed in a modern, gathered style and tailored to your chosen colour palette. Of course, the number of buttonholes and bridesmaids bouquets is tailored to your bridal party and you can add flower crowns, ladies corsages, flower girl posies and anything else you can think of for ‘personal, wearable flowers’.

What Affects the Cost of Wedding Flowers?

Wedding flower pricing isn’t one-size-fits-all. The biggest factors that affect cost include:

Seasonality

Flowers that are in season are more cost-effective. Out-of-season blooms or imported flowers increase costs.

Size & Scale

Large installations like floral arches, meadows or hanging arrangements require more flowers, time and mechanics.

Guest Numbers

More guests usually means more tables, centrepieces and styling elements.

Style

Loose, garden-style florals generally use more stems than compact arrangements, which affects pricing.

How to Save Money on Wedding Flowers

If you’re working to a budget, here are a few ways to keep costs under control:

  • Re-use ceremony flowers at the reception
  • Focus on fewer, larger statement pieces
  • Choose seasonal flowers
  • Combine florals with candles, lanterns or styling items

I always help couples decide where to save and where to splurge, so your budget works as hard as possible.

Do I Have to Choose a Package?

Not at all.
While packages give a helpful starting point, many couples choose to build a bespoke floral design tailored to their venue, vision and budget.

Every wedding I design at Karen Alexander Weddings is completely personal, and pricing is always transparent.
