Middleton Lodge

Middleton Lodge

Middleton Lodge sits on a rambling estate and offers many beautiful spaces for your wedding day giving lots of options when thinking about your wedding flowers and styling.

The main house is grand and opulent and The Fig House has a Mediterranean vibe. Whether you choose on, the other or both there are some beautiful options to bring your own style to these spaces.

The Main House

In the main house you can choose the central lobby with a sweeping staircase to make your entrance to your ceremony. Here you can dress the staircase or frame the doorway at the front of the ceremony.

Otherwise you can use the most beautiful room for your ceremony which looks out over the gardens where there is an opportunity to create a focal point with your wedding flowers and styling, and I recommend a broken arch or a pair of arrangements on plinths.

The Fig House

The Fig House and walled gardens are simply beautiful spaces. When the weather is fine an outdoor ceremony in the walled gardens is magical. The only thing to think about with outdoor ceremonies is the wind. Anything you take outside in terms of decor needs to be sturdy and secure.

Inside the Fig House the ceremony space has beautiful beams that can be dressed and again, a focal point at the front of the ceremony with some statement wedding ceremony flowers works beautifully.

Moving through to the dining space, hanging a statement arrangement from the lantern lights is worth every penny. Then I would recommend keeping the centrepieces on the tables very simple. If you go for long tables there isn’t space on the tables for elaborate arrangements so a row of bud vases, tapered candles or lanterns works best here. To add a luxe vibe to your tables, make use of the space at each guest’s place setting. Adding something on top of the napkin or a charger plate elevates the look. I would always suggest investing in beautiful table stationery as this will also elevate the look of the tables and make a big impact.

Foam Free

Wedding flowers at Middleton Lodge must not use floral foam. It is banned from this venue as they are very forward thinking!

This is a great step in the right direction for wedding flowers but it does mean that this has to be taken into account when choosing your wedding flowers and the kinds of arrangements you would like.
